About the North Alabama Regulators:

We are a SASS affiliated club located in North Alabama. We are home to the State Championship "Ambush At Cavern Cove". We have worked hard to provide wonderful and entertaining stages to our range.  The club has hard working members. Along with dedicated officers click here to meet our officers .

SASS is the fastest growing shooting sport in the nation.   Safe, friendly and family oriented, cowboy shooting is the fastest growing of all the shooting sports and certainly the most unique. For most SASS members, cowboy shooting is a release from their work-week routine. While it might be for only a day, these weekend wranglers are really into the cowboy lifestyle as you can see that by the cut of their clothes and the six-guns on their hips.

SASS and The North Alabama Regulators promote safe handling and the proper care of firearms in the friendly spirit of competition. We also communicate the rich traditions of the Old West. All club members must be SASS members and are encouraged to be NRA Members.  Non-members are welcome to shoot with us at any regular shoot.

Regulator News:

The North Alabama Regulators Range

Almost all the lumber for the early stages on this NAR shooting range was cut by Sawyer on his personal sawmill from recycled trees.  Lots of these trees were available to him from storm damage and construction sites. He cut, loaded, hauled and unloaded the lumber with many trips to the range. This obviously allowed the club to construct many stages in a short time with available materials.

News from the President:

"Occasionally, everyone has to deal with circumstances beyond their control.  This year, Sunday morning at Ambush, was our occasion.

As most of you may know, we suffered what turned out to be a hard drive crash on the Club's computer.  All the participant's names, categories, and the scores from Saturday's six stages were irretrievably lost.  To further compound the issue, we did not have a backup method of entering, tabulating and sorting the rest of the scores.

At that point, we were forced to attempt another method of tabulating the scores.  This method turned out to be 95 percent accurate, but had some errors that we were not able to recognize until the shooters begin reporting back to us.  At that point we dropped back, and put reporting the results on hold until the SASS scoring program could be used again.

I apologize for the inaccurate initial reports, as well as the delay in the actual announcement of the winners, and will take the appropriate steps to insure it doesn't happen again in the future.

That said, and scoring issues aside, thanks to each and every person who participated in any degree with this great match!"

Newest Stage at NAR

Our Church, built in 2011,  is the most recent stage to be added to the North Alabama Regulators cowboy town. Funds to build it were donated by longtime member, Tuff Stuff.  At the time of the photo, the church hasn't been named.

Congratulations Winners!
